My Approach

Treatment integrates remedial massage techniques with a nervous system-informed approach to support recovery, resilience and a deeper connection with your body.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is tailored to your individual presentation and goals, drawing from a range of techniques including:

  • Deep tissue massage – Sustained pressure to release deep muscle tension and improve mobility

  • Myofascial release – Sustained techniques to ease restrictions in the connective tissue that surrounds muscles

  • Trigger point therapy – Targeted pressure to reduce tight, sensitive areas that may refer pain elsewhere in the body

  • Stretching techniques – Assisted stretches to improve flexibility and ease muscular tightness

  • Active and passive release techniques – Combining movement and pressure to restore muscle function

These techniques may be used to address areas of tension, discomfort, restricted movement, or increased physical demand, while supporting improved mobility, body awareness and overall function.

Nervous System-Informed
Care

The nervous system plays a central role in how we experience pain, stress, movement, recovery and connection with our bodies.

Alongside hands-on treatment, sessions may incorporate neuroscience-informed strategies that are tailored to your current state and individual needs. This includes working with the body's sensory systems to support regulation, adaptability and awareness.

Depending on your goals and presentation, treatment may draw on:

  • Exteroception – How your brain receives and responds to information from the world around you, including touch, sound, sight and other sensory input.

  • Proprioception – Your awareness of where your body is in space and how it is moving.

  • Vestibular input – The sensory system that supports balance, coordination, movement and spatial awareness.

  • Interoception – Your awareness of what is happening inside your body, such as your breathing, heartbeat, muscle tension, hunger or thirst.

  • Nociception – The nervous system's process of detecting and responding to signals that may indicate potential threat or tissue damage, contributing to the experience of pain.

Sessions may also include neuroeducation, helping you develop a greater understanding of how stress, pain, movement and nervous system responses influence your experience. By increasing awareness and understanding, clients are often better able to recognise patterns, respond to their body's needs and develop a more supportive relationship with themselves.

Every session includes thorough assessment and is tailored to your unique needs on the day. The goal is not simply to address symptoms, but to better understand the factors contributing to your experience and support greater ease, awareness and connection over time.
